Our Pastors

David Palmer, his wife Jeanette and their daughter Jessica were invited to join what was then Pine Rivers Assembly of God in February 2004. Prior to this David had served on the leadership of a large AOG church in the southern suburbs of Sydney for 13 years before being invited to join the team of a growing church movement in the north of England in 1996. After 6 years in the UK the Palmers returned to Australia in 2002 at which time David took a 18 month sabbatical from full time leadership.

David is creative and has written a number of songs, some of which have been enjoyed by churches around the world.

David's primary values are to love God and to value people, which is evident in his leadership style and ministry. He is a visionary with a prophetic edge and has ministered in various nations around the world.

Along with the leadership of what is now called Believe Church, David believes that God has strategically prepared Believe Church for such a time as this and is excited by the opportunities the church is now experiencing to connect with its community and abroad.

Hi! My name is Geri and I'm Community Engagements Pastor at Believe Church. My husband, Jonno and I have both been at this church since we were children. We were baptised here, married here and now both of our beautiful children have been baptised here as well.

My journey to becoming a pastor began with a song, and it's possibly the easiest way to explain my passion and why I do what I do. There's a song by Matthew West that says, "I don't want to spend my whole life asking, 'What if I had given everything instead of going through the motions?'" A great day for me is a day when someone I've been walking alongside finds hope, a future, something that they can give their whole lives to believe in. I honestly believe we exist for a reason, like in Esther 4:14: "Who knows but that you were brought to the kingdom for such a time as this?"

I love the way our church is integrating with our local community, working with some of the most amazing people we've ever met and partnering with some incredible groups who are working hard to bring people hope, dignity and a better future. We are seriously blessed to be involved with these groups and contribute however we can to seeing our region go from strength to strength.

What I love most about Believe Church is our people's willingness to live that great commission we're given to go into all the world and make disciples. Whether it's supporting mission works overseas or bringing loaves of bread for a local school breakfast club, our church's generosity and willingness to act, give, and do, our church has constantly risen to every occasion. We serve an incredibly generous God and He has given us the means and the passion to do more than we have ever done before.
